December Bulletin Boards!

Bulletin Boards are my favorite things to make. They're big, they're fun, and sometimes, they're educational. But, educational ones aren't my favorite.
My favorite ones are the ones that are engaging for residents and fun to look at. I want my residents to feel like a part of the community in my building, so for December, I made a bulletin board and put all my residents on the board as mini snowmen.

Why is this important though?
Adding your residents onto the bulletin board shows that they belong to a community, and that the hall is a home, not just a place to stay. I like to do this so that my residents can see each others names as well, so they know who lives in the hall with them and is also a part of this community.
This is a very easy way to build community, similar to having a birthday wall. As a student teacher, in my classroom we often put students names up on the walls, somewhere for everyone to see who is in the class. I feel that there is similar value in doing it for residents as well.
Happy December! Finals are almost here, but so is break, so have fun making bulletin boards and enjoying the cold that is finally coming!
