BREAK IS UPON US!

Wow! Am I ready for break or what?

Breaks can be a stressful time for RAs, though. We have a lot to do, from checking out residents to making sure they all have a place to go to getting everyone out of the hall by noon on Wednesday.

It's also hard because we have to host all the hall meetings, and talk to our residents about how to properly check out.

But, here are a few things you can do to make sure you have a wonderful break!

- When you leave campus, LEAVE BEHIND YOUR JOB! Don't bring it with you - leave it at school. When I go home, the last thing I want to think about is my RA job, school, and all the tasks I'll have after break.

- Do assignments BEFORE going home for break. This sounds like extra work, but honestly, the feeling of being home and not doing homework is the best thing in the world. Trust me: get it done before going home.

- Go offline while home. I love stress-looking at all my grades and assignments and crying - don't we all? But the best part of break is just relaxing, so my tip is to not log into canvas or blackboard or whatever your school uses, and just RELAX. School will be waiting for you on Sunday.

- Spend time with friends, but also sleep. I also struggle with making plans with friends, and sleeping. DO BOTH! Make sure you're sleeping enough to catch up for all the hours you didn't sleep while at school, but also hang out and have fun. It's break!

- Eat all the good food! I love homecooked meals and forgetting SODEXO exists. Don't we all? Focus on the good food and eat it all while you can!

I hope break is amazing for all you RAs out there who are also feeling dead on the inside because of school and assignments. Try to relax, and remember: school is important, but so is self care!
